Urban Sketching

In 2013 I did my first Camino, the Camino Portugués from Porto. After that one, I wanted to do more. Beautiful landscapes, meeting people, sleeping in albergues and hostels. The simplicity of each day: get up, walk, eat, drink, socialize, go to bed. And on the road musing and lots of time for self reflection. A meditative state.

After a few years, I thought of making sketches during my camino’s. To make small not to detailed sketches, that was my goal when I joined workshops with Jan Velthuis en Riny Bus in 2022. They stimulated me to find my own style. Since then I took my mini palet and sketchbook with me on each camino, hike or city trip.

An impression of my sketches on the way:

A combination of Camino Ingles, Camino Muxia-Fisterra, Camino Rua Muras-Noia and a few stages of Camino Portugues.
