Art in Transition

Is your organization navigating a significant transition, or is your management team right in the middle of a complex change process? Large-scale transformations require more than just updated frameworks, timelines, and spreadsheets. They require true human alignment, vulnerability, and mutual trust.

As a senior change consultant, executive coach, and artist, I bridge the strategic with the creative. In my unique team workshops, I bring teams together around the canvas to make visible what so often remains unspoken in traditional organizational settings.

During organizational transformations, underlying team dynamics always surface. There are often unexpressed fears, hidden resistance, individual desires, and shared aspirations. By stepping away from pure logic and entering the creative process of painting, we create a safe and insightful space.

The canvas acts as a powerful mirror. Through the creative session followed by a debrief, teams gain crucial breakthroughs:

  • Insight into each other: Team members discover each other’s core drivers, vulnerabilities, and perspectives beyond their job titles.
  • Insight into the collective: Group anxieties and hesitations regarding the change are surfacing constructively, turning friction into understanding.
  • Insight into the future: Hopes and shared visions are made visual, creating a shared understanding and a sense of ownership.

These workshops are not standard team-building activities; they are strategic interventions tailored to your specific organizational needs:

  1. The Client Alignment: We start with an intake to map where your team stands in the change process, and identify the current obstacles and objectives.
  2. The Creative Session: I guide your team out of their daily routine and into the creative process. To ensure complete authenticity, every participant works on their own canvas using acrylic paint and a palette knife. By stripping away brushes, we prevent people from hiding behind intricate details. By giving everyone their own canvas, there is no place to hide in the crowd; every individual voice and perspective becomes fully visible. Together, they translate the abstract reality of the transition into color, texture, and form.
  3. The Coaching & Debrief: Drawing on my change management and coaching background, I lead a reflection session in which we discuss the meaning of the individual paintings. Subsequently we link the insights gathered to the organizational change issues, team synergies, and actionable next steps.

A team typically achieves alignment around a shared vision through increased understanding and newly developed trust. As a lasting bonus, the physical artworks from the workshop displayed in the office, serve as a daily reminder of the intentions building the future together.

Every team is unique, and every transformation requires a tailored approach. Reach out today to share your team’s current challenges, and let’s explore the possibilities together.
